The goal isn't perfect Instagram makeup. It's soft, slightly mysterious, lived-in 2000s makeup.
Keep the base light and natural. Conceal where necessary and let your skin still look like skin.
Use a taupe or soft brown shadow over the lid. Blend it out rather than making the edges too sharp.
Add dark brown or black eyeliner close to the lashes and smudge it slightly.
Curl your lashes and add mascara. Keep them defined and fluttery.
Finish with a muted rose, mauve or berry gloss.
